Pomegranate Martini

I’m sold.  We’re really not steady drinkers of cocktails, but this drink has me sold on the martini concept.  It was delicious!  I can’t even tell you where we found the recipe for this lovely cocktail, except to say that I believe it was in an ad from one of our food magazines.  The photo of this drink looked great, and for whatever reason we thought it might be a nice addition to our Thanksgiving Day festivities.  We were absolutely correct.  The tart freshness of the pomegranate juice was bright and lively, and a gentle pucker from every sip was a sharp jolt to the senses.  Adding this drink to our menu was the perfect reason to supplement our modest collection of martini glassware, and lent that little hint of sophistication to an already terrific day with family.  I highly recommend this easy gem!

  • 3 oz. Pomegranate juice
  • 1 oz. vodka
  • 1/2 oz Cointreau or Triple Sec

Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes.  Add juice, vodka and Cointreau or Triple Sec.  Shake vigorously.  Pour into chilled martini glass.

Makes 1 drink.
